Step back three centuries while visiting Spier Wine Farm and Hotel – boasting gabled Cape Dutch-style buildings, expansive lawns along the Eerste River and views of the Helderberg Mountains in Stellenbosch, the second oldest settlement in the country. The farm is also largely agreed to have the oldest dated wine cellar in the region.
Although Stellenbosch is still a town of rolling farmland and vineyards, it has also blossomed into a vibey student hub and holiday destination whose oak-studded streets are lined with students attending the renowned Stellenbosch University. While the town is overrun with wine farms and bars, it is also a foodie and nature lover’s paradise with countless nature trails and restaurants spread throughout the valley.
Guests can stay in Spier Hotel’s signature rooms, signature garden terrace rooms, signature riverside rooms, signature riverside terrace rooms, or their suites. Visitors can enjoy wine tasting at the Spier Restaurant and Wine Bar, picnics by the river, and light lunches at Eight. This family-friendly hotel also has a kiddie’s clubhouse, Segway tours around the farm, eagle encounters and a craft market.
