Why visit Ellerman House?

Ellerman House offers the most exclusive address in the Mother City, set on the mountainside in the affluent Bantry Bay suburb. This mansion overlooks the expanse of the Atlantic Ocean, with Robben island beckoning in the distance. With only 13 uniquely styled antique Rooms and 2 ultra-modern Villas, this elegant escape is for the most discerning of travellers.

If you want all the privacy in the world but still want to be a stone's throw from Cape Town's premier attractions, Ellerman House is for you. It's a stroll away from the pristine Clifton beach, frequented by the beautiful and famous. The shopping mecca Victoria & Alfred Waterfront and city centre are also a 10-minute drive away, with the Cape Winelands 45 minutes away.

But Ellerman House is a destination on its own, and we can guarantee that you'll want to spend plenty of time at your home base. It's an indulgence of the senses and appreciation of the finer things in life. They've made it their mission to make you feel like royalty, from collecting you in a custom-made BMW 7 series at the airport down to the secret pantry where you can satisfy your sweet tooth.

Another attraction is the one-of-a-kind carbon fibre wine cellar, where you can even blend your bottle of wine. And then there's the in-house South African art collection to ooh and aah over, and the onsite spa with a wide variety of treatments. But even just exploring the gardens or staring out at the glimmering Atlantic Ocean, spotting a whale breaching or dolphin splashing on the horizon, if you're lucky, is enough to keep you entertained.

Dating back to 1906, Ellerman House retains much of its original charm, but it comes with every modern convenience your heart could desire. And located in Cape Town with everything from mountains, vineyards, penguins, beaches, art, culture – it has everything you could need rolled into one destination.
