Unlike set group tours, it gives you more flexibility and ensures you only do what you like to do. Besides, why waste time in Africa? Every second should be yours to enjoy how you see fit. It’s effectively an itinerary designed from scratch just for you.
How does it work? Well, your dedicated Travel Expert will get to know you first, make suggestions, and then they'll wave their magic wands to ensure every detail is planned while at the same time giving you the freedom to change your mind and do as little or as much as you'd like in Zambia.
If this is your first time planning an African safari in Zambia, we're sure you must have many questions! Here are some of the most common questions our Travel Experts get.
We recommend you stay at least a week in Zambia to explore the country fully. However, our average itinerary is usually 11-12 days.
The best time to visit Zambia depends on what you want to do and see. It has a rainy and dry season, which usually guides guests to choose when to visit.
The best time for a safari in Zambia is during the dry season, which is from September to October. This is because there are limited water holes, so wildlife gathers for the best game viewing. If you mainly want to see Victoria Falls, it's at its fullest between April and May. However, swimming in Devil's Pool on the edge of the Falls is a seasonal activity you can only enjoy during the dry season when the water levels are lower.
November to March is the rainy season, which turns the safari destinations into lush green landscapes. Birding is spectacular during this time, and newborn animals are everywhere.
Here are just some of our favourite things to do when visiting Zambia.
Your Zambia safari cost will depend on various factors, including but not limited to seasonality, availability, duration of your stay, where you choose to stay and what you want to do. However, as a general guideline, you can expect to pay anything from $500 to $3,000 per person per day.
Zambia is located in Southern Africa and combines well with destinations like Zimbabwe, Botswana, South Africa, Mozambique, Namibia and East African destinations like Tanzania and Kenya.
You can now connect from Zambia to Malawi with a direct flight, which makes combining your Zambia safari with a beach holiday easier than ever. There are some great lodges on Lake Malawi we can recommend.
However, your wish is our command! We can recommend the best possible destinations to add to your itinerary.
Anyone who appreciates Mother Nature in its purest form will love a Zambia safari. We also see lots of couples visiting Zambia for a more off-the-beaten-track romantic getaway.
