  • Soweto houses the largest black bommunity - in excess of 2 million - made history and world news on 16 June 1976, with the uprising against Afrikaans as a language medium. Many lives were lost in the Struggle whilst the Apartheid government only wanted the Bantus to be educated to a restricted level.
  • Visit the Hector Pieterson Museum which bears testimony to the youth that lost their lives in the Struggle, visit Regina Mundi Church AKA Quwwn of Soweto, which bears the scars of damage done during the Freedom Struggle.
  • Visit Mandela's House, Desmond Tutu's House, Winne Mandela's House, the many Shebeens and local restaurants while you feel the new vibe in this developed suburb
