Xugana Lagoon is widely accepted as the most astounding permanent water site in the Okavango Delta. One could say that makes Xugana Island Lodge one of the area’s most sought-after spots, giving guests a chance to experience the Delta at its most lush.
The lodge stands on a wooden island on the Xugana Lagoon, which means most of the activities are water-based, such as exploring the Delta’s water on a mokoro or motorboat adventure or fishing for tiger fish and bream. Xugana is especially renowned for its bird watching opportunities, particularly in the summer months. Of course, day and night game drives as well as guided nature walks are also offered.
The lodge offers accommodation in Chalets and sleeps a limited number of guests, offering a more exclusive experience. Each chalet is made from thatch and reed and comes with twin-size beds, an en-suite bathroom, walk-in showers and a private deck. Al fresco dinners and drinks are served under a canopy of African mangosteen and ebony trees overlooking the pristine waters of the permanent Delta. Safe and relaxing dips can be taken in the swimming pool in the centre of the island.
