Duma Tau – meaning "roar of the lion" – is an intimate, luxury tented camp set in the private Linyanti Wildlife Reserve, bordering the western boundary of Botswana’s Chobe National Park. The camp is located close to the source of the Savuti Channel, where riparian forests fringe permanent waterways and dense mopane woodland stretches away to the south to form a corridor for a plethora of wildlife.
Explore the Linyanti River by boat or barge, reclining on the cushions with a sundowner in hand. Large herds of elephants frequent the waterways, lagoons and waterholes scattered along the channel. The end of the dry months sees sable and roan antelope within the woodlands, while the predatory cats prey on lechwe and tsessebe antelope. Birdlife is abundant and diverse, with high concentrations of birds of prey claiming the skies.
The seven guest suites and one family suite are raised off the ground to take full advantage of the lagoon views. Each spacious suite enjoys a private plunge pool and comfortable lounge area, and feature a large bathroom with indoor and outdoor showers. Set in the grove of mangosteen trees, the lodge is completely solar-powered and built from sustainable timber.
