Hosting just eight people in four elegant and spacious en-suite rooms, Wolwedans Plains Camp is hidden in a valley of the 200,000ha NamibRand Nature Reserve. It's open, earthy design was crafted to embrace the silence and peace of the surrounding landscape, inviting the outside in even when guests are not exploring the reserve via scenic drives, hot air ballooning, scenic flights, and nature walks.
NamibRand is lesser known than it’s famous neighbours, Sossusvlei and Naukluft Park, and therein lies its appeal. Restricted numbers of visitors are allowed into the reserve at any given time, ensuring that guests at Wolwedans will feel as if they have the whole reserve to themselves. A variety of wildlife can be found across its 200,000ha expanse, from baboon and hyena to plains game and leopard.
Aside from its four Rooms, the Plains Camp also boasts a sala ideal for relaxing in, several decks, an open-plan study, living room, and dining area, a fully-equipped kitchen, and a swimming pool. Mealtimes here are lavish yet unaffected affairs—just like everything else at this Wolwedans establishment.
