A repeat winner of Hospitality Association of Namibia (HAN) Golden Award, the friendly family-run Vreugde Guest Farm lives up to its name which means joy or happiness. Located in the Outjo District, it is just a 30-minute drive to Etosha National Park and an excellent stopover when covering the vast expanses of Namibia.
Etosha is the must-see wildlife destination of Namibia with its vast white salt pan covering a bit over 20% of its 22,270km² expanse and even visible from space. Its open spaces and sparse vegetation make for excellent game viewing while 4 of the Big 5 roam these parts. Guided tours are available from the Guest Farm while those content to stay in the immediate vicinity can take a short tour of the working cattle and sheep farm or walk about while keeping an eye for indigenous wildlife and variety of birds.
With just six Twin Rooms and one Family Room the farm boasts a warm and intimate appeal that complements the rustic feel. Add to this a refreshing swimming pool, heart farm cuisine and drinks around the fire.
