The home of walking safaris as well as the most intact river system on the continent, Zambia’s South Luangwa National Park is a must for seasoned and new safari-goers. The seasonal Tafika Camp offers an intimate safari experience in this paradise brimming with over 400 bird species and up to 40 mammals. Found on the banks of the Luangwa River in the Nsefu Sector, four-person game drives and a maximum capacity of 14 guests at the camp ensure privacy and exclusivity.
The vegetation in Luangwa varies according to the seasons, making it a delightfully diverse park to visit. In the dry season, the park is bare bushveld, while the wet season rains turn Luangwa into a lush wonderland. The oxbow lagoons of the Luangwa River attract a variety of wildlife, including wallowing hippo pods, flitting kingfishers, and passing elephant herds.
Four of Tafika’s six en-suite reed chalets have twin double beds in each room, while the Honeymoon Suite boasts a king-size bed. There is also a two-bedroom Family Suite to suit couples with children or friends travelling together.
