Sossus Dune Lodge prides itself on its environmentally sensitive lodges, built at the base of a mountain inside the Namib-Naukluft National Park. With its location providing close access to the Sossusvlei and Sesriem Canyon, the Sossus Dune Lodge is the perfect environment from which to enjoy the sparse Namibian desert.
Activities revolve around this spectacular location and the natural wonders that exist on its doorstep. Guests are invited to enjoy Sossusvlei day and sunset drives, guided nature drives, guided after-dinner strolls and stargazing as well as guided walks to Sesriem Canyon, visits to Dune 45 and the petrified dunes.
There are 25 chalets, 13 with views of the dunes and 12 with mountain and canyon views. The chalets feature en-suite bathrooms, and canvassed walls and thatched roofs blend in with the environment. Rooms are equipped with mosquito nets, solar powered fans, leather and dark wood furniture, and suede loungers. Floor-to-ceiling front glass windows afford fantastic desert views. The central areas of the lodge, raised on wooden decking, include a small reception room, open-plan restaurant with separate lounge and bar areas, and a much appreciated swimming pool.
