Somalisa: The home of the elephants

Found in a part of Hwange National Park favoured by elephants, it’s unsurprising that Somalisa Acacia Camp and its neighbour, Somalisa Camp, call their surrounds "the home of the elephants". Catering for a maximum of only eight guests, this camp offers an incomparably intimate safari experience ideally located on the road between Bulawayo and Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe.

Hwange National Park is the country’s largest national park. Dotted with pans, acacia trees, and seasonal floodplains, this wildlife haven is home to a vast array of wildlife including one of the continent's largest groups of Cape wild dogs. Twitchers will be thrilled to learn that Hwange also boasts over 400 different bird species.

Somalisa Acacia Camp’s three twin-bedded Tents and one Family Tent are all found resting in the shade of surrounding acacia trees and slightly elevated from the ground with the help of wooden decks. All have en-suite bathrooms and private views overlooking a small waterhole. The main camp has a splash pool – ideal for cooling off in after a day spent on game drives and walking tours.
