With all-encompassing views of the Nhlaralumi River and bushveld before it stops at the base of the distant Drakensberg Mountains, Simbavati Hilltop Lodge promises prime game-viewing opportunities in the iconic Timbavati Private Nature Reserve. The reserve forms part of the Greater Kruger Park –home to the Big 5 and over 360 different bird species.
This is safari country where days are spent traversing the landscape South Africa is so well known for, in search of the reserve’s inhabitants. Apart from its more famous inhabitants, Timbavati is also home to numerous endangered species including African wild dog and cheetah. Timbavati is perhaps best known for its white lions, whose glimmering coats have led to them being revered by the local Tsonga people – who believe them to hold the spirits of deceased kings.
The lodge’s 8 Luxury Tents are comprised of two Tents each linked by a walkway leading to the bedroom and bathroom, leaving guests free to enjoy a shower open to the elements, should they so wish. The lodge also boasts a game-viewing deck, infinity pool, curio shop, 360-degree-view bar, and lounge with a selection of board games and books.
