On the fertile banks of the Zambezi River, a regal hideaway awaits in the airy and alluring Royal Zambezi Lodge. Only minutes from the Lower Zambezi National Park directly opposite Zimbabwe’s Mana Pools Heritage Site, this is an idyllic base for those wishing to explore all that this abundant region has to offer.
The Lower Zambezi National Park covers a vast tract of land and holds an array of wildlife within its protective grasp, from elephant and lion to leopard, jackal, and hippo. Birders and photographers will be thrilled with the 300+ bird species recorded in the park, while the river itself is a prime spot to lure bream and tiger fish.
The lodge’s 15 canvassed tents come in the following configurations: Classic, Deluxe, and Presidential Suites. All have verandahs overlooking the river and en suite bathrooms, while the Deluxe and Presidential have salas and plunge pools. The activities available are as varied as they are interesting, from water, vehicle, and walking safaris to canoeing, cultural village visits, and fishing excursions.
