Between the Ugab and Huab Rivers in southern Damaraland lies a vast and unspoilt wilderness with magnificent desert scenery, fascinating geological formations, archaeological sites and a unique variety of desert fauna and flora. This is also where you will find Mowani Mountain Camp.
The Camp is camouflaged among large, ochre boulders with its high elevation commanding distant views over the ancient landscape. You can be absorbed into the wilderness and observe nature and its inhabitants undetected. Adventures and activities include elephant and dune drives, nature walks and excursions to nearby Twyfelfontein archaeological site with all its wonders.
The stilt-like supports of the unique luxury Tents have limited the excavation required to create this special oasis. Much care has been taken with the design of the public areas, creating the impression of an African Village. The pool deck is lodged between the boulders: soak up the sun while enjoying a refreshing drink and the views. The boma is the ideal setting to reminisce over the day’s excursions, and Mowani also offers superb food and dining facilities where you can feast on a variety of delicious meals.
