Mokete Camp

Be one of the first – and few – to experience the intimate and limited edition Mokete. Sandwiched in between two iconic Botswana wilderness areas, Moremi Game Reserve and Chobe National Park, this previously unexplored pristine piece of land sets the scene for prolific game viewing. 

The elegant tented camp is located in the Mababe Concession on the eastern fringe of the Okavango Delta. Nutrient rich grasses, the Mbabe Marsh and River create an unique habitat where great herds and big cats thrive. As such, your daily game drives are like a thrilling treasure hunt, complete with clues, as you look out for paw prints in the sand and listen for the alarm calls of their prey across the prehistoric-like landscape. Watch the drama unfold as massive herds of buffalo congregate on the open grasslands, prides of lion regularly hunt during the daylight hours and other predators such as cheetah, wild dogs, jackal and clans of hyena vie for dominance. There are also expertly guided walking safaris with the optional add-ons of hot air ballooning over the Delta as well as listening to the tales of village elders on a community excursion. 

In order to be in the centre of all the action, Mokete has done away with walls and opted for innovative canvas suites with cantilevered roofs that slide away to reveal a canopy of stars every evening. Each suite has been raised on its own decking and has a chic and minimalist design. The lounge, verandah and outdoor showers ensure a panoramic view of the stunning grasslands as you go about your day. Spend leisurely afternoons cooling off in the pool and, in the evenings, make your way to the inviting bar and the firepit area and share safari tales before savouring a communal dining extravaganza under the stars. This limited edition camp is completely solar powered with a sunken hide for up-close animal viewing making it a truly once in a lifetime experience.
