In the heart of Zambia’s South Luangwa National Park, Time + Tide Luwi Bush Camp embodies the remote and rustic appeal of the African wilderness. Not only is Luwi’s environmentally-conscious approach to the camp’s construction truly remarkable, but its magical setting under mahogany trees makes for one authentic and awe-inspiring bush experience.
Unique in its location, Luwi is one of the only Luangwa camps to be set back from the waters of the Luangwa river. Adjacent to the camp, however, is a permanent lagoon with large populations of hippo and crocodile. With no other camps or roads in close proximity, Luwi is one of the most enthralling camps in Zambia owing to its walking safaris and lion and wild dog tracking activities. Walks can be complemented by game drives and explorations upriver.
The five exclusive chalets are finished off with traditional grass and thatch, and polished mud floors. This lends the camp a real ‘bush’ feel, despite the lavish beds draped in mosquito nets, and en suite bathrooms. Overflowing with earthy tones, the chalets extend to a thatched bar area, and shade from the mahogany trees provides a soothing haven for daily feasts.
