Found at the close of the Great Rift Valley, South Luangwa National Park is not only home to a landscape that inspired the now-popular walking safari – it is also home to Luangwa River Camp, an intimate camp resting on the edge of one of Africa’s last remaining wildernesses. Enjoy all manner of safari activities in this varied and game-rich part of Zambia.
Luangwa’s landscape is comprised of riverine woodland flanking winding oxbow lagoons, expansive game-dotted plains, dense thickets and towering baobabs. The coming and going of the seasons bring about pronounced variations in this biodiverse landscape, each stunning in their own way. This is safari country thanks to its vast array of wildlife including lion, giraffe, elephant and 400 different bird species.
Catering to a limited number of guests, Luangwa River Camp overlooks the game-rich Luangwa Wafwa and ensures a highly-tailored safari experience. The Bush Suites are spacious, with themes of elegant simplicity prevalent throughout. Their en-suite bathrooms open up onto a deck and the savannah beyond, while the sunken bathtub is the perfect spot to enjoy game viewing.
