La Pirogue Hotel

At La Pirogue Hotel on Mauritius’s west coast along a lengthy stretch of beach, all rooms are on the ground floor. Considering these individual thatch cottages are scattered within a 14-hectare coconut grove with the balmy Indian Ocean beyond, things are just as they should be—less between you and the bliss of island paradise.

Apart from soaking up the setting with long walks on the beach, the hotel offers a range of immersive activities. Gain a window into the underwater world from a glass-bottomed boat or take a closer look with snorkelling or diving through the dive centre. Head out on a giant catamaran, go deep-sea fishing or on a voyage of dolphin discovery. The Sun Kids Club provides activities and menus for little ones and a Teens Club is also available.

Among the 248 cottages are 46 Superior Rooms and two Royal Suites while the room amenities include flat screen satellite television, Wi-Fi, air-conditioning, tea/coffee-making facilities, and furnished private terraces. Tennis courts, a swimming pool, the Aura Spa with hairdressing salon and martial arts arena, five restaurants and three bars round out the facilities.
