Between the acacias and Mokolwane palms of Brown Hyaena Island, Camp Kalahari is located on the edge of a lake and right next to Makgadikgadi National Park. With traditional touches and modern comforts, this family-friendly camp will help you channel your inner explorer.
Year-round activities include interactions with a group of habituated meerkats, game drives where you can spot rare desert species such as the brown hyena, visits to Chapman’s Baobab, and walks with Zu/'hoasi bushmen. Dry season activities include quad biking excursions across the Makgadikgadi salt pans and stargazing. The green season brings the second-largest migration of African ungulates (mostly zebra) as well as the predators that follow them, making for unforgettable game viewing. Horseriding safaris and quad bike journeys are also available.
11 Meru-style tents are available, each with four-poster beds and en-suite bathrooms with flush toilets and hot and cold water. Between activities, cool off in the pool, lounge under the shady pavilion and enjoy delicious meals in the main tent.
