The town of Hermanus on South Africa’s south west coast has long attracted travellers with its enviable location, many recreational pursuits and some of the best land-based whale watching worldwide. The Auberge Burgundy Guesthouse holds a prime spot, just above the picturesque Old Harbour and 50m from the waters of Walker Bay, and offers a charming variety of accommodation options.
A stay here will leave you spoilt for choice. The adventurous won’t be bored with great white shark-cage diving, kayaking, sandboarding and more – while a wine tour, guided Township Tour, or horseback riding excursion are more relaxed diversions. All will delight in the visiting whales whether viewed from land, sea, or a flight over the bay. Restaurants, boutiques, galleries and the craft market are all nearby.
Choices continue at the guesthouse, with one Middle Room, perfect for those eager to be out and about, 12 Standard Rooms and five Suites, including two Presidential Suites, available. All enjoy pleasant scenery, with the suites having the added bonus of sea views and balconies. Indulge in delicious breakfasts prepared daily at the Burgundy Restaurant.
