On the untouched north-western edge of Madagascar, guests will find a hotel so remote that it feels as if it sits at the end of the world. A Relais & Châteaux property, Anjajavy l’Hôtel is only accessible by air and sits in its own 450ha nature reserve – home to over 1,800 species of flora and a variety of exotic animals.
A forest of deciduous trees backs the hotel, leading to frequent brown lemur sightings on the property. The landscaped gardens of the Oasis house a variety of rare plants while a dozen private beaches are shared with only the handful of guests that Anjajavy accommodates. Activities tend to be exclusive, such as boat trips for two and intimate dining in the gardens.
An ensemble of 24 luxury rosewood Villas is scattered among lush gardens close to the private beaches. The ground floor of each Villa houses an en-suite master bedroom and features a deck looking out onto the sea. Anjajavy’s restaurant serves an array of exotic dishes and can be found under palm trees, surrounded by immaculate lawn.
