With a private piece of land all to itself, the Victoria Falls Island Lodge boasts seclusion like no other. Perched on a lush and bountiful island, this is an idyllic paradise waiting to be explored.
The island of Kandahar is set amidst the Zambezi River, upstream from the highly-acclaimed Victoria Falls. This exclusive lodge is only accessible by boat, and only accepts guests who are 16 years and older, ensuring exclusivity and privacy whilst based at this prime location. Guests can explore the Falls themselves, enjoy water-based activities like fishing or sunset cruises, as well as game drives on the mainland in search of the wildlife bounty within the Zambezi National Park, which is right on your doorstep. That is, of course, if you can tear yourself away from the remarkable suites.
There are four standalone swanky Treehouse Suites raised on stilts and which jut out over the river, each offering incredible panoramic views of the water below and the riverbank landscape beyond. Each has a large deck, replete with its private plunge pool, where one can soak off and soak in the incredible scenes which provide true solitude in nature.
Floor to ceiling glass, pale wood and minimalist contemporary décor allow the outside to take centre stage, whilst inside comfort reigns, with spacious and well-appointed Suites. They are connected by raised winding wooden walkways that lead you to the welcoming and convivial communal areas frequented by hippo and elephants.
Added to this — yes, it gets even better — there are two additional double-storey star-bed treehouses, where one can drift off to sleep under the star-studded sky.
