Advice for the Best Tanzania Safari Tours

Venturing into Tanzania, where the untamed beauty of nature awaits, is a wild African dream come true. Having personally visited and helped countless travellers plan their perfect safaris, we're here to answer any questions.

How Much Does a Tanzania Safari Cost?

Tanzania safari prices vary depending on your choice of accommodation, duration, activities, time of year and availability. However, to give you an idea, the average cost of a safari in Tanzania is between $350 and $3,500 per person per night sharing.

How Many Days Do I Need for a Tanzania Safari?

The ideal duration is up to you, but we recommend a minimum of 7 nights to absorb Tanzania's wonders.

Whether you're staying for a week or 14 days, we'll customise your Tanzania safari package to include the best destinations and activities according to your timeline and preferences.

How Do I Choose a Safari in Tanzania?

Selecting the perfect safari is easy with our Travel Experts. Simply share your preferences, and we'll tailor the safari to your liking – from accommodations to the types of activities to travelling to different parts of the country. With Rhino Africa, it’s your adventure, your way.

When is the Best Time to Visit Tanzania?

Like most African destinations, Tanzania is a year-round destination. However, the climate varies across the country, offering diverse experiences throughout the year.

From June to October, the dry season is ideal for wildlife viewing, especially if you want to observe the Great Wildebeest Migration

There are two wet seasons, April to May and again from November to December, which brings lush landscapes and is fantastic for bird watching. However, most safari areas remain warm, so you can still enjoy the country.

And, if you're looking for a tropical beach getaway to Tanzania's coast, Zanzibar and other islands, the best time to visit is between June and March.

We know precisely when and where you need to be for the best experiences. And in a country like Tanzania where the Great Wildebeest Migration is on the move, that is a must.

What Can I Do in Tanzania?

In Tanzania, you’re spoilt for choice when it comes to activities, and there’s something to suit every traveller. Head out on thrilling game drives in the famous Serengeti National Park, visit the iconic Ngorongoro Crater, or embark on a cultural journey to meet local Maasai tribes. We also highly recommend a hot air balloon safari (followed by a bubbly breakfast in the middle of the savannah, of course!).

For the adventurous, climb Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa's highest peak. Or, if you believe a holiday should be synonymous with rest and relaxation, you'll be delighted to visit the pristine beaches of Tanzania's surrounding chain of islands. Zanzibar, in particular, is a favourite of ours, and so is exploring the historic Stone Town in Zanzibar, where the famous Freddie Mercury hails from.

Where Should I Go in Tanzania?

Tanzania has many must-visit destinations. Serengeti National Park is renowned for the Great Wildebeest Migration, while the Ngorongoro Crater offers unique wildlife encounters.

Tarangire National Park is an elephant haven, and Nyerere National Park (previously known as Selous Game Reserve) provides an off-the-beaten-path safari experience. Zanzibar's white-sand beaches and historic sites are a must-visit for beach lovers.

What Makes a Tanzania Safari Special?

Tanzania's safari experience is unbelievable, thanks to its diverse ecosystems, including the iconic Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater. The Great Wildebeest Migration is a natural spectacle, while first-hand encounters with the Maasai people add cultural richness.

The country's commitment to conservation ensures sustainable tourism, contributing to preserving its extraordinary biodiversity. This is always a treat to witness first-hand and to feel like you’re part of its story. A Tanzania safari promises not only breathtaking landscapes and wildlife but also a profound connection to the essence of Africa.

Can I Visit Other Countries From Tanzania?

Absolutely! Although Tanzania offers many unique experiences, combining your trip with other African gems is always recommended.

Explore neighbouring East African countries, such as Kenya during the Great Wildebeest Migration or Rwanda, for a gorilla trekking experience.

Our Travel Experts will help you choose your destination combinations according to your desired experiences and activities.
