The Erongo Mountain Nature Conservancy is comprised of 30 adjoining private farms whose owners are committed to conserve and protect the 200 000ha of combined land, rich in endemic flora and fauna as well as ancient rock-paintings and engravings found in Paula’s Cave. The looming Vingerklip (Rock Finger) formation also found in the region has an eerie resemblance to the human extremity. Activities in the area include hikes, nature walks and drives.

The picturesque town of Omaruru has decided artistic flare, interesting history and home industries producing everything from distilled brandy to hand-made chocolates. Karibib is known as the home of Namibia’s only gold mine while the Spitzkoppe outcrop is a scenic hour drive away and popular with photographers and nature-lovers alike.
