A sundowner on your private viewing deck or a bubble bath in your ball-and-claw tub is sure to be a relaxing and rewarding experience at Camp Shonga. Found at the foothills of the Lebombo Mountains in a private concession of the Kruger National Park, guests can watch game pass by from the comfort of their tent when not actively searching for wildlife on game drives across the park.
Kruger National Park has long drawn scores of adventure-seeking and nature-loving travellers to its landscape. Along with the Big 5, the park is home to over 500 bird species and an array of other wildlife that are waiting to be spotted. The Panorama Route – one of South Africa’s most awe-inspiringly picturesque self-drive routes – is easily reached and a great add-on to a Kruger itinerary.
Daily game drives in search of wildlife are punctuated by morning coffees and evening sundowners in the bush. Traditional cuisine is served al fresco in the boma around the fire before guests retire to the comfort of their tents. Each of the five tents has a lounge area, en-suite bathroom, fireplace, outdoor shower, private viewing deck and ball-and-claw baths.
