Guests can truly live on the plains with Bomani Tented Camp, where a remote and exclusive safari experience awaits on a 5,000-acre private reserve in the Ngamo Forest Area, mere minutes from Hwange National Park. This is a superb add-on to an itinerary featuring Victoria Falls and Bulawayo, with swift one-hour charter flights on offer from these locations directly to the lodge.
Hwange National Park and the expansive Ngamo Plains are most notably home to Africa’s gentle giants. Elephants roam the park in large numbers alongside other inhabitants including lion, hyena and buffalo, to name a few. Different seasons bring different wildlife who vie for prime positioning around the sun-baked waterhole in summer. In the rainy season, the Ngamo Pan’s dusty surface mirrors the sky as a watery film descends on it.
Guests can be woken by a steaming morning brew followed by a sunrise safari in the park, or otherwise enjoy a lie-in and a morning spent at the local village. The five Saddlebill Tents and Sable Suite are raised from the ground and overlook Ngamo Plain, while the four Spurwing Suites are found at ground level overlooking the waterhole.
