Amakhala Woodbury Tented Camp

Amakhala Woodbury Tented Camp is an intimate three star camp, offering guests an authentic outdoor experience in safari tents. The camp overlooks the ancient floodplain of the Bushmans River, right in the heart of the Amakhala Game Reserve, one of the hidden jewels of the Eastern Cape.

Zebra, giraffe, buffalo, eland, rhino and elephant are drawn to the river’s nourishing banks. Regal fish eagles soar overhead. All these creatures (and more) can be spotted from the lodge’s main deck – and activities include two game drives per day. If you want to get a closer look, guided walks as well as canoeing trips, river cruises, picnic lunches and bird-watching excursions can be arranged.

After a day of exploring, kick back at one of Woodbury’s ten en-suite tents. Each tent sits on a raised deck with its own private balcony, and inside you’ll find either twin or king sized beds – depending on your preference. Indulge in baked goods and gourmet dining prepared on-site, served al fresco on the main deck.
